Greg Spalding started the topic NIck Cave – 20,000 Days On Earth in the forum Hype This! 8 years, 9 months ago
Just watched this over this past weekend. Definitely would recommend it to anyone that has been a lifelong fan. Not really a rock documentary as you would think, but shows a lot of his day to day life and how he keeps constantly moving with music and his writings. Some cool shots of his days in Berlin as well when he did much of his writing and…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic Going upstairs/ringing the bell without a key fob in the forum What’s Up With That? 8 years, 10 months ago
People that do not have FOBs always need to be stopped at the front entrance as per Superior Street’s policy. If they ring the bell and are looking for entry they have two options:
1) They are a tenant who doesn’t have a FOB. Please offer to sign them up on our FOB request sheet. If they refuse simply tell them they will not be allowed…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic Power problems in the forum What’s Up With That? 8 years, 10 months ago
Power is essential to our tenants here and we take it very seriously. However, we ask that if you are having electrical issues you take the time to do the following:
1) Please check your gear and make sure it’s grounded properly, i.e., make sure your power cable to your amp, head, or PA is a three pronged plug. If it’s not, really annoying…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic Heat! It just got cold as Hell. in the forum What’s Up With That? 8 years, 10 months ago
Superior St. has many heating units all assigned to different sections of the building. We keep the temperature at 68 degrees year round and each unit feeds several rooms at once. When we experience huge fluctuations in heat or cold due to weather, the units sometimes can malfunction leaving your room with no air or heat. Should this happen,…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic PULP Documentary: One night only! in the forum Anything Goes 8 years, 10 months ago
I was pretty excited about this and was going to go to The Music Box this Wednesday, but Pitchfork.tv was streaming it for 24 hours for one day only yesterday so I went this route.
This is a great documentary on several levels, but I think most importantly this band is a testament to making great music coming from such a bleak situation as the…[Read more]

On a more refreshing note, has anyone been watching the Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters produced “Sonic Highways” on HBO? While sometimes it can be a little much watching Grohl trying to keep himself on the pedestal as the MVP of rock and roll, I must admit that this show really digs in and has great insights to towns that matter most in the history of…[Read more]

Greg Spalding started the topic Taylor Swift and Spotify in the forum The Business End 8 years, 10 months ago
While I really don’t care at all about Taylor Swift and her music, this was a pretty interesting read of why her albums were pulled from Spotify:

The music business is beyond confusing at this point, but it really still is all about money. Yawn.

Who’s idea was it to have the dude from Staind sing the national anthem for Game 5 of the World Series this past Sunday? Guy couldn’t even get the words right. It made Roseanne Barr’s singing of it look stellar in comparison. Who ever made that decision might want to remember that dudes in nu-metal bands shouldn’t be singing the national anthem…[Read more]

Anyone else see this show last night? I went with a friend since he had passes for the article he was writing about the show. The King still has it even if he hasn’t toured in almost 12 years. I still don’t know how he sings that high. Anyway, great show and great crowd.
