Hey y’alls,
Would any of you or a band you know have any interest in playing a show at Debonair Social Club on 4/11 at 8pm CST? My band was scheduled to play but found out this morning we’ve got a scheduling conflict. I don’t want to leave them high and dry so am trying to find a replacement. Lemme know!

Just watched this over this past weekend. Definitely would recommend it to anyone that has been a lifelong fan. Not really a rock documentary as you would think, but shows a lot of his day to day life and how he keeps constantly moving with music and his writings. Some cool shots of his days in Berlin as well when he did much of his writing and…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic Going upstairs/ringing the bell without a key fob in the forum What’s Up With That? 9 years, 5 months ago
People that do not have FOBs always need to be stopped at the front entrance as per Superior Street’s policy. If they ring the bell and are looking for entry they have two options:
1) They are a tenant who doesn’t have a FOB. Please offer to sign them up on our FOB request sheet. If they refuse simply tell them they will not be allowed…[Read more]

Keystone bill dies in the Senate — for now . . .
The Senate blocked a measure Tuesday that would have authorized construction of the Keystone XL pipeline as Democrats chose their pro-environment base over an old friend — embattled Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu.

Here’s a great exerpt from the article: “There’s a replica of the Mothership heading to the Smithsonian Institution?
Right. It’s going into the African-American wing of the Smithsonian, which should open next year. They’re putting the Mothership up there, right next to the Tuskegee Airmen.”
George dicusses his continuing battle over royalties…[Read more]

Power is essential to our tenants here and we take it very seriously. However, we ask that if you are having electrical issues you take the time to do the following:
1) Please check your gear and make sure it’s grounded properly, i.e., make sure your power cable to your amp, head, or PA is a three pronged plug. If it’s not, really annoying…[Read more]

Greg Spalding replied to the topic Heat! It just got cold as Hell. in the forum What’s Up With That? 9 years, 5 months ago
Superior St. has many heating units all assigned to different sections of the building. We keep the temperature at 68 degrees year round and each unit feeds several rooms at once. When we experience huge fluctuations in heat or cold due to weather, the units sometimes can malfunction leaving your room with no air or heat. Should this happen,…[Read more]

I was pretty excited about this and was going to go to The Music Box this Wednesday, but Pitchfork.tv was streaming it for 24 hours for one day only yesterday so I went this route.
This is a great documentary on several levels, but I think most importantly this band is a testament to making great music coming from such a bleak situation as the…[Read more]

“Our power keeps going out! What’s up with that?”
Some people have noted that they are having an increasing issue with fuses for their room blowing.
Over the summer people were also noticing the power in the building “droop”.
Does anyone know what the deal is with the electricity?

Now that we are fully into winter the office gets an increase in requests for heat, and general complaints about room temperature.
Some people bring in space heaters to deal with the cold, but that has it’s own set of issues.
Does anyone at Superior St. have any guidance about getting heat issue resolved? Are space heaters allowed?

The Buzzcocks release a new album. Read the full review from COS:
The Buzzcocks don’t belong to the 21st century, and they would probably be the first to tell you that. These boys belong to an era of fast cars and loud guitars, of radio singles and B-sides played at 45 revolutions per minute. Never has this been more apparent than on The Way,…[Read more]

Zach replied to the topic Elevator question in the forum What’s Up With That? 9 years, 5 months ago
There are a couple reason why tenants are not able to operate the elevators.
The first reason is the least rock n’ roll: safety. The elevators at Superior St. are manually operated safely; meaning they require training and familiarity to operate. For this reason there is a greater likelihood of someone getting stuck between floors, locking their…[Read more]
